One of the biggest questions I get as a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM) is, “What do you do all day and how do you make money?”
I am a Registered Nurse and I’ve worked at several hospitals over the years.
Eventually, I knew I wanted to stay home and be available to my three kids for whatever they need.
Additionally, I wanted to help out with my family’s financial obligations so I started researching viable options for working from home.
Fortunately, there are lots of great remote jobs for stay at home moms to make money from home.

3. Freelance Writing
Freelance writing is a great flexible job for SAHMs.
They pay is usually good and you can set your own work hours.
If you are just getting started as a freelance writer, you should begin by taking on small projects in order to build up a portfolio.
Here are some steps for starting freelance writing:
Prepare financially in case it doesn’t work out
Become an expert in your niche
Start with small projects and work on building your portfolio
Continue to learn and refine your writing skills
Search the web and job boards for freelance writing work
Strive to be the best for your customer
Make sure you are legal (compliant with state laws)
Another tip is to create a website specifically for your freelance writing services, contact info, portfolio, and rates.
Finally, always do your best work, maintain an excellent reputation, and your client base and salary will continue to rise.

4. In-home Daycare
I have several friends who provide in-home daycare services.
They really seem to enjoy it and they get to stay at home with their children.
Also, you have to get a state certification before you keep any children in your home, so make sure you do your research and find out all of the necessary requirements.
The median suggested pay rate to charge per hour in Georgia for child care is $15.50 per hour.

5. Become a Virtual Assistant
I am hearing a lot lately from people who use Virtual Assistants (VA) and also people who teach you to become a VA.
Some companies will wire a VA to help them manage their online administrative tasks.
This is a great work from home option for SAHMs that need a flexible schedule.
Virtual Assistant responsibilities can include:
Travel arrangements
Management of social media
Work-calendar management
Preparing presentations
Email marketing and correspondence
Transcribing conference calls
Miscellaneous customer service oriented tasks
You can become a virtual assistant by taking a training class to teach you all the VA skills and everything else you need to know to get started as a VA.
6. Amazon ‘s Remote Employee Jobs
Everyone has heard of
They are a giant company that sells just about everything you can think of.
Recently,
This would be an excellent opportunity for any SAHM.
Amazon is posting a variety of remote positions ranging from customer service to data entry, all the way to supply chain managers.

7. Tutoring as a Stay at Home Mom
Are you a teacher or just really good with certain subjects?
Give private tutoring classes at your home and use your knowledge.
This is a flexible work from home job that would be good for a SAHM.
If you live in a large neighborhood you can put your service fliers in mailboxes or post your job on the neighborhood website.
Or, if you’d rather work online, you can check out Chegg tutors.
Their site says that some tutors make over $1,000 per month.

The first thing is to decide if you really want a SAHM job and then to just START it!
