This post is about using Fall Decor in the Dining Room.
This is the next chapter in the little series of my personal Fall Home Tour.
Today, let’s look at some DIY inspiration using Autumn and Fall in the Dining Room.
Using Black and White in Fall Decor
This year, I am all about some black and white buffalo check print.
In my Instagram posts I had shared that when I walked into Kirkland’s, the black and white buffalo check items grabbed my attention.
I realize that this is not a new thing, but for some reason, I never really paid it much attention.
But this year, I am drawn to it!
It has just sucked me in, friends!
Anyway, I bought several black and white checked pillows, a table runner, a banner, and a small, framed print.
Fall Decor: Recycle and ReLove
I really had no idea how I was going to decorate the dining room table, but I did know I wanted to use this table runner.
However, it was actually too short for the length of the table. What to do.
So, I cut it in half and placed a DIY wood tray in the center and piled on the pumpkins!
I included my old white pitcher and placed some faux leaves and branches inside.
I also inserted two, distressed, black candle holders and stuck white pumpkins on top of them.
The only thing new for the dining room this year is the table runner, and the two pillows that I put in the end-chairs.
Everything else is being recycled and reloved!
Using Leaves and Pumpkins
Also, I reused the same leaf garland and wreath that I used last year for this window and ledge.
I did add an old picnic basket and stuffed it full of leaves and gourds.
And, I am reusing this live-edge bowl that I bought from Target, and putting little pumpkins and leaves in it.
Fall Decor on the Sideboard
For my little sideboard table, I used several items:
- my DIY “gather” sign,
- white soup tureen,
- vase with leaves and branches,
- white candle holders,
- vintage white rooster dish,
- homemade corbels, and
- a silver cloche with a pretty gourd underneath.
I keep my old pitchers and vintage milk glass on the bottom shelf.
Finally, over on my china buffet, I have a nubby, burlap runner.
This keeps the top from getting scratched, then I add my seasonal decor.
I am keeping most everything the same as always while adding in a few white and pale-colored pumpkins.
Well, that’s my dining room, and next will be Fall Foyer decorating.
I was going to combine the two rooms, but I didn’t realize how long-winded I am.
I hope you are having fun decorating your house, inside and out.
I’d love to hear any tips and ideas you have about Fall decorating.
Feel free to also send me any Fall photos for inspiration!
Happy Fall, Ya’ll! : )
