Fall Home Decor Ideas and DIY
One of my favorite holidays to decorate for is Fall (autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving). Because of this infatuation with fall, I have collected quite a bit of stuff over the years and reuse my same items every year. Also, I like to make some of my own decor like wood signs, fireplace banners, wood plank crates, framed fall printables, etc. In this post, I’m going to give you some ideas on how to incorporate affordable decor and DIY Fall decorations into your home.
First, the den is decorated with lots of little pumpkins, leaves, and pinecones from the yard. I did buy the burlap banner from Target for $3.00, and I painted “HARVEST” on it with brown paint. And, I added one of my Pottery Barn plaid throws to the fireplace.
In the same way, these little woodland animals are from Target: Randy the raccoon, and Fred the fox. They coordinate well with the plaid pumpkins and the neutral and black pumpkins. Again, I added in a few random leaves for color and some pinecones. I’ve had the firewood basket (Kirkland’s), and I bought the olive bucket at World Market.

Next, is the little antique bench in my kitchen by the staircase. This is the coziest little spot in our kitchen. Again, it is decorated very similar to last year, but I added a different mug, a new little DIY sign, and the brown pillow. I made the “vintage” pumpkin crate underneath the bench using scrap wood and paint. For the “Hello Fall” sign, and LOTS of my homemade signs, I used my Silhouette Cameo 3. This thing is a lifesaver, very easy to use, and extremely well worth the price.
Finally, this is our breakfast table in the kitchen. I usually place a round wooden tray in the middle of the table with different seasonal plants, etc. For Fall, I am using colored pumpkins and succulents. These pumpkins came from Target and Home Goods for a few bucks each.
Fall Wreath for the Front Door
You know it’s Fall whenever you get to change out your door wreath! For this project, you can use any store-bought wreath, then add seasonal items to it. You can buy small pumpkins, pinecones, berries, acorns, and leaves at your local crafts store for a few dollars. For added privacy at our door, I stained and attached a few small, wood planks to the back of this wreath. I bought and painted the “S” orange and added a piece of burlap ribbon to hang the wreath on the door. I LOVE these fall colors! What do you think?
I hope these inexpensive Fall ideas have inspired you to get out your autumn decor and get decorating! Stay tuned for more cute and affordable DIY Fall decorating projects!
