How to Make a Unique and Beautiful Spring Wreath – DIY
I am SO ready for Spring… are you? This spring my side-entry door is dressed in calming shades of green, white, and brown. I LOVE these nature-inspired colors, and sometimes I like to have my decor reflect these beautiful colors as well. I also like to use “items of the season” to decorate a wreath — like bunnies for Easter!
I have linked several affordable wreaths below that would look beautiful with your own unique details added to your wreath:
Now that you’ve got your base (wreath), lets get started!
I started with a plain, green wreath that I had and added some more greenery and sprigs here and there. Next, I wired in some faux hydrangeas with florist wire. Of course, any type and color of flowers would be pretty. After that, I used hot glue to attach the monogram letter to my wreath. And, you can’t have a fabulous wreath without a bow — I used about 3-4 yards of burlap ribbon and made a large, trailing bow that I attached with wire.
Now, we have glass in our side-entry door, and I always feel like someone is going to try and peep in the window, especially at night. Because of this, I wanted to put something on the back to cover the circle in the middle of the wreath, just so it would cover a little bit more of the glass area. I bought a small, round, wood-slat board from Michael’s and attached it to the back of the wreath with hot glue and some wire.
The awesome thing about this wreath is that you can use it for any season by changing out the flowers and ribbon, and you can also put a little sign in the middle (like a “Welcome” sign), or just about anything else you can think of. Here is a supply list of similar items I used to make my spring wreath.
It’s so versatile, and crazy easy!
